Methods and results of acceptability assessments of mixed and virtual reality systems

Abstract

During this presentation, Frederic Rabellino, Technology Specialist VR-AR-MR-AV, will present methods for assessing the acceptability of mixed and virtual reality systems in 2 different contexts, as well as the results of these evaluations:

  • 1st context, implementation of a mixed reality system on a population of French assembly line operators.
  • 2nd context, implementation of virtual reality system on a population of engineers from French, Swedish and American engineering departments.

M Frederic Rabellino, Technology Specialist VR-AR-MR-AV | VOLVO GROUP

Frédéric Rabellino was born in Lyon in 1976. After several years of travelling in his youth, he studied at AFPM in Lyon and joined Renault Véhicule Industriel in 1994 as an apprentice for a contract of alternating qualification in the form of materials (style models).

After a long in-house training programme in the field of graphic programming, he decided to join the “Product Engineering/ Computer Assisted Process” department in the “Cabin Studies” department in Lyon. It is here that he begins his activities in the field of Virtual Reality in 1998 with the help of the “Technical Simulation Centre” headed by Andras Kemeny of Renault S.A. in Guyancourt.

He works on the implementation of Virtual Reality systems in industrial design processes for all brands and all the amenities of the AB Volvo group.
